Entry into the United States of America, which will be enforced as of the 12th january 2009, all foreign nationals from any of the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP) nations which includes the United Kingdom must obtain an electronic travel authorisation before arriving in the United States through the ESTA system.
All travellers must fill out the online form here: http://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/
The online registration is valid for two years, however each travel arrangement within the two years must be updated.
